Nokia and Intel Join Hands! Future is all about Powerful Mobile Computing
Yesterday, June 23rd 2009, may very well be remembered in the history of both Nokia and Intel Corporations forever because this was the day when Nokia and Intel announced a long-term business relationship.
Nokia and Intel have been walking hand in hand for quite some time now where Intel’s ARM processor and chipset technology and Nokia’s mobile-based computing efficiency is being put in use to yield highly efficient hardware and software.
This collaboration is expected to release a new line of mobile computing devices which will be distinct and beyond notebooks, net books, Mobile Internet Devices and smart phones in their appearance and performance.
Are you ready for the future? If you been in love with Nokia devices and enthralled by the powerful performance of the surprisingly efficient ARM processor in them, you will certainly like the upcoming line up from Nokia and Intel.
There are high expectations in the air from Nokia and Intel to launch devices/gadgets that are innovative, efficient and broadband connectivity enabled.
The collaboration is likely to use open source management software for this effort to increase the efficiency of mobile computing devices, lower the battery consumption and enrich their internet browsing experience using the latest possible trends and innovations in technology once Intel acquires a Nokia HSPA/3G modem IP license which will definitely grab a place for itself in the upcoming Intel products.
Aimed at developing Linux-based operating systems for the upcoming breed of mobile computing devices, the companies are planning to work on Moblin, (which is already in use for some systems) and Maemo (for use on Internet Tablets like Nokia N810).
This will deliver “visually rich Internet media experiences on Intel® Atom™ processor-based devices including MIDs, netbooks, nettops, in-vehicle infotainment (IVI), and embedded systems”.
Here is a word briefing over the collaboration from Anand Chandrasekher,Senior Vice President, Intel Corporation and General Manager, Ultra Mobility Group –
“This Intel and Nokia collaboration unites and focuses many of the brightest computing and communications minds in the world, and will ultimately deliver open and standards-based technologies, which history shows drive rapid innovation, adoption and consumer choice”.
