Facebook and Google announce their Services in Persian!

FacebookGiven the situtation in IRAN, Iranians have no other way to communicate with the world but through the online medium.

Tech companies quickly identified the opportunity and launched products serving the people of IRAN to help them communicate with the rest of the world.

Facebook launched a Persian version of the application for Iranians which makes posting and sharing news and communicating effortless for people who have hard time navigating through the service.

Facebook mentions, if it was not for the 400+ Persian speaking users who submitted the translated versions of the site.

GoogleGoogle wasn’t left much behind in the race to serve Iranians. The company announced the availability of the new language, Persian, on its translator tool.

Google translation for Persian is currently optimized to translate to and from English language but it might not be as optimized in other 40 languages on the list.

I don’t see this happening with more services (maybe Twitter)  just as yet simply because they are not being used as much as Facebook, Google or even Twitter is being used by Iranians!
