Your wait for the most anticipated phone from Nokia is almost over. Nokia has already announced that its new top class phone, the Nokia N97 termed as “the most powerful, multi-sensory mobile computer in existence” will be available in the first half of 2009, starting June 25th. It uses an ARM 11 434 MHz processor and is built on S60 platform with a smart user interface that provides kinetic scrolling of the applications on the screen for a sophisticated feel.

It features a smart auto-focus camera fitted with 5MP (2584×1938) Carl Zeiss optical lens for high quality images and DVD quality video at 30 fps and a dual LED flash for brighter and clear images for shooting in the dark. It also comes with another VGA camera for making video calls.

The intelligent side-slider 3.5” wide screen display with an aspect ratio of 16:9 flips with the position of the phone in your hand to switch between portrait and landscape modes. The TFT display size is 360*640 pixels and displays 16,777,216 colors. The most interesting thing about the phone is that it’s the first device that allows you to personalize your home screen in a similar fashion like you personalize your desktop.

It has a smart web browser that easily lets you hook with your friends on social networking sites like Facebook and Hi5, moreover you can also directly upload pictures from the camera onto facebook, flickr, etc. The new Nokia N97 features an A-GPS system so that you can have a glimpse of maps with Nokia Maps 2.0 or get in touch with your loved ones using its IM, EMS features or even type and send mails using its comfortable and stylish QWERTY keyboard beneath the slide.

Synchronize your phone’s content with your PC using the traditional Nokia PC Suite or share your favorite audio tracks over Bluetooth stereo and FM transmitter. It is also fully accessible to the Nokia’s Ovi Store that enables you to download free and paid applications, games, videos, podcasts, productivity tools, shopping and much more to customize your device or keep yourself updated with timely news from Bloomberg and Reuters or just get connected to wireless networks using its Wireless LAN, edge or Class 32 GPRS.
