Zune HD Announced – Slimmer and Loaded with New & Amazing Features!
After Apple’s iPod Touch and Sony’s X-series walkman, it’s Microsoft ‘s Zune HD in the league of portable digital players. Yes, Microsoft’s digital and entertainment zone, Zune has officially announced Zune HD, which will be a tough contender to Apple’s iPod Touch.
The Zune HD gizmo comes with a 3.3” OLED touch screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a screen resolution of 480×272 and with its multi-touch navigation system you can easily switch between movies, music and other content just at a touch.
You may also want to multiply the digital entertainment experience of the device by connecting it to your HDTV, just like you connect your Sony PSP, but video quality is much better that Sony PSP.
Remember it supports movies, TV shows and videos in 720p HD format. The Zune HD downscales 720p HD video files to fit the 480×272 resolution screen You can play your favorite songs and videos in HD format and not only this, multimedia content in HD format (songs or videos) can be streamed to HD display via HDMI interface provided on Zune HD. .
It is packed with a built-in HD Radio Receiver so that you can tune into your favorite radio channels for a crystal clear sound which makes it the world’s first HD radio device. But if you are looking to grab a local radio signal, it must be in HD format in order to be playable on this device. If the song you are listening doesn‘t make you happy, you may switch to its HD2 and HD3 channels for additional programming. It also features a full screen web browser, which uses touch screen version of Microsoft’s popular Internet Explorer so you can browse your favorite blogs or even check your mail with ease using its QWERTY keyboard. Not only this, it comes equipped with a built-in-accelerometer and tap to zoom technology.
The wireless network i.e. Wi-Fi support lets you connect, update, and buy content wirelessly from Wi-Fi hot spots over the web or you can turn your device into a portable jukebox by streaming millions of songs over Wi-Fi directly to your Zune HD. The Wi-Fi can also be used to download the music tracks from Zune PressPass subscription.
It is rumored that the maximum storage capacity of the gizmo will be 32GB and it will also play Xbox’s Arcade games, though there are no official confirmations yet. Microsoft did not disclose any hardware specifications of the gadget yet. Also, the price, date of launch and storage capacity are yet to be revealed.
