Twitter Not for Sale (Atleast not as yet), says BIZ!!
Since today morning the internet is buzzing with the news that GOOGLE is buying TWITTER for a billion dollars. The news was first published on Tech Crunch.
Biz just posted his views on Twitter blog indicating that Twitter is not for sale it just started. This was an expected reaction from a person who made a statement couple of weeks ago that Twitters real potential will only be realized when a regular internet user understands the concept behind twitter.
This is the right move on Twitters part as literally twitter hasn’t even started yet. Most of the 7 – 8 million hits that we see every month are from social media experts, tech evangelists, tech enthusiast or anybody who is related with technology one way or the other.
Twitter hasn’t even reached the common man like Facebook, Orkut or any other social oriented services. In addition to that they are yet to come out with there business model which once out will add to twitters net worth by multiple folds.
All that said, Biz in his blog hasn’t even denied any talks with Google which indicates that Google and twitter might be working on something together.
Quotes from Twitters blog.
“My inbox is flooded this morning with requests for a response to the latest Internet speculation about where Twitter is headed. It should come as no surprise that Twitter engages in discussions with other companies regularly and on a variety of subjects.
Our goal is to build a profitable, independent company and we’re just getting started. We’ve got just over thirty employees now and we’re working out of a loft in San Francisco’s SoMA neighborhood. By the way, we’re hiring talented people if you want to join us.” [Link]
