The tech world has more of followers than innovators, what I mean by that is we see more of MEME technologies and products and less of refreshingly new and out of the box concepts, nonetheless innovation is what driving us into the future.
Violet is one of the technology companies which fits the description of a company with refreshing and out of the box concepts. Violet takes a distinct approach of brining technology in our daily lives with minimal tech interaction.
Violet offers an array of gadgets which keep you connected with the most important things on the internet, like e-mails, news, stock, etc.. and digitlize and automate certain repetitative tasks. The best part it you don’t have to be anywhere near your computer to send and receive updates. This technology also works with the RFID technology to complete a certain task on the fly.
Let’s look at what Violet has to offer.…
Nabaztag:tag is a small little multipurpose internet-connected Rabbit which keeps you updated with everything on the internet and around you. You define what’s important to you and it keeps tabs on it on the internet and as soon as there is something which needs to be updated it will say it out loud.
The rabbit checks the weather whenever you want, keeps an eye on stocks, send traffic updates, play our Girlfriends favorite song every time you flash her picture in front of the rabbit.
It also works with little programmable RFID tags which are called Ztamp. Ztamps can be programmed to execute a set of commands and accomplish a task. For example you can program a Ztamp to send an email to a group of friends everytime you flash it against a Rabbit. These Ztamps can be stuck onto almost anything they look just like the regular stamps.
Rabbit is capable of doing quite a few things, here are a few. It can Blinks, moves ears, talks, plays music, speaks 32 languages, obeys commands, interacts with other rabbits and reads and acts on RFID Ztamps, reads news, reads RSS feeds, Chat with other Rabbit owners through voice, music and ear movements, and much more..
Check the video below to see how it really works.
Nano:ztags are the smaller versions of Nabaztag only looks wise but they just functions as RFID tags. They are programmable just as Ztags using the services on Violet.net which when flashed in front of the Nabaztag (Rabbit) or the mir:ror it does what it is programmed to do. Nanozatags are not available separately sold, they come with Nabaztag or Mir:ror only.
Mir:ror is another sleek looking gadget which acts as a reader and executes tasks assigned to the ztamps. So let’s see what its capable of doing..
Based on what a ztamp is programmed to do, mir:ror can launch files on the computer, connect to websites, Plays videos – photos – music, Text to speech for news and RSS feeds, Launch internet radio, send e-mails, sends messages to Twitter, reads out books, etc..
Watch the following video to see mir:ror in action…

dal:dal is the latest edition to the line of products Violet offers. The product is scheduled to release in the first quarter of 2009, it should be out soon.
There are not many details available about dal:dal on the site but from what we read it’s a "Lamp which turns the Internet into lights" and short audio messages.
I see Violet or violet-like technologies becoming very common in the time to come. What we are seeing now might just be the start of someting which makes our lives much more easier.
