Google has always been on the look of ideas and concepts of introducing new concepts and ideas which serves the Indian user base. One of the things Google sees as challenge is the internet penetration in the country and is working towards bringing more people online which helps the society and Google as well (I don’t need to tell you how, do I?).

It has come up with a new initiative called "Internet Bus Project" where a bus loaded with internet facilities and huge LCD’s go into the cities and villages, talking and explaining to people the advantages and uses of the internet.

Here is what the bus looks like

One of the reasons of picking Tamil Nadu to kick start this project could be the high literacy rate of 70% to 80%. The theme this bus will follow is Education, Information, Communication and Entertainment.

You can read more about the initative on this address (http://www.google.co.in/internetbus) as the blog post says, this page will be updated live from the road or join the Orkut community to and keep updated of whats happening with the project.

Watch the following video to see the bus in action..
