Figured out the problem... A link Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 original version comes up when searching for the download in Google (as it should). However, we should be searching for Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 SP1. After installing the update everything works as it should. Hopefully, this follow up with help others avoid this same mistake. Happy computing!

Found your guide when looking for an answer to a Windows 7 beta in Microsoft Virtual PC issue. The problem starts when attempting to "Install or update Virtual Machine Additions" from the Actions menu. After reboot, Windows 7 will not start without restoring to a previous state. Without those Virtual Machine Additions, Windows 7 runs slower and some features are disabled. Any suggestions?

Awesome set of instructions. Great piece of work. While none of it is all that difficult, it is great to have such a clear guide illustrated by so many screenshots.

Nice job!
