Digsby: Your one stop shop for Instant Messages and Social Networking
The pursuit of finding an application that’s capable of being a one stop solution for my social networking needs has probably come to an end. The solution comes in the form of Digsby. Digsby is a single solution to all your needs like, Instant messaging, Email Notifications and Social Networking. It tightly integrates all these into one single application and hence you don’t need to have multiple clients and applications to manage all of them.
It’s not that I did not try it earlier but the latest release is much lighter and integrates good number of applications and hence worth a try. And Digsby did not disappoint me. One thing that I did not like about Digsby is all the things that it tries to install on my machine and some of them are known to be adwares like stuff from freeze.com. But if you are smart to avoid it you won’t be disappointed with the client per se.
Following are the services which are supported by Digsby:
Configuring it is as easy as it can get. Just add the accounts in the preferences window and you are good to go! Alright now for the best part. This application is absolutely free and is available for Windows, OSX and Linux!

I have written this in march and have been one of the very few beta users. I appreciate the client. One of the best I have seen. It draws me away from pidgin(formerly GAIM). This client has potential.
Linux & OSX variants are not available yet. I clicked the link and they just have you give them your email so that they can keep you updated.
Erm.
as others have said Digsby does not support linux or mac but also they dont have a portable version which is what causes me to use Pidgin. Digsby also doesn't support Google Talk or IRC so its not an all in one client. It has a ton of potential and the skinning system is very nice but when it comes to all in one Pidgin is the closest. Pidgin supports everything that Digsby does and many more protocols...as well as actual linux and mac support. Digsby is not open source where Pidgin is. Pidgin also supports Meebo allowing you to use the meebo me widget on your site for visitors. Overall Pidgin is certainly the closest all in one IM client there is right now. Pidgin even supports Twitter, Facebook and Myspace. If Pidgin had a better interface it would be unbeatable but if digsby matches the functionality of pidgin then maybe it could overtake it.
