If you are one of those guys who spend a lot of time on social networking sites, then I am sure you would be writing a lot of status messages. What’s the purpose of updating status message? Well, in most cases you want to let the world know something about your thoughts at that moment and in some cases you want to let them know what you are up to at that very time.

But then there are times when you know you want to post a status message that causes people to respond and comment. The idea is to be both smart and controversial. And sometimes it’s not easy to come up with something like that. Ever wondered if you had a service that’d generate status messages for you. If you did then you are lucky because there is a service like that.

The service is called generatus and pretty unique. Let’s see what this service is from it’s own description.

You will be served up a brand new, sparkly status all ready to be copied and pasted into Facebook, Twitter or whichever social networking site you like best.

Just select the gender (male or female) and hit generate to generate random status messages. And then there is also, a tag cloud to help you with the status messages for the kind of mood that you want messages for.

My take on this service is it’s pretty unique and handy, but being original is better. More over the service can improve a lot by allowing users to enter a status message and then generating a witty message out of it. That’s gonna require a lot of semantics to train the machine.
