Inquisitor: Yahoo makes search easier and smarter!
With Google dominating the life of a normal user’s search requirement, the notice usually moves away from other search services and one of them is Yahoo. But silently Yahoo is adding feature to it’s search. Also, at least in India the advertising for Yahoo search on television has surged up. Talking about the new features that are being added to make yahoo search better are constantly added.
Today Yahoo launched Inquisitor for Firefox 2& 3 and Internet Explorer 6, 7 and 8. Inquisitor was first launched for Safari earlier this year. Let’s see what Inquisitor is:
- Inquisitor… speeds up your searches like no other.
- Start typing and websites appear instantly, along with suggestions to help refine your search.
- Inquisitor understands you, learning and tailoring your results as you search. You can also add more search engines with customized keyboard shortcuts.
- Inquisitor is fast, smart, flexible… and free!
Inquisitor for Firefox and Internet Explorer has great resemblance to the one which was launched for Safari. As per Yahoo “Information Re-Retrieval: Repeat Queries in Yahoo! Logs,” the algorithm that generates the personalized results has been enhanced to return more targeted results.” Which in simpler terms mean better information retrieval.
For that version of Internet Explorer, Inquisitor is also capable of retrieving information from your bookmarks. Below you can check the video of Inquisitor in action:
