Quintura: Searching your site was never easy and also make some money
There are various methods of making information about your site available for your readers. Usually with wordpress based site it’s fairly easily as most of the themes have search boxes by default. Else, there is also a widget for search which you can include in your side bar. However, if you want to make some money using this capability you can use Google’s adsense for search. There’s a similar service offered by Quintura. Quintura has launched a new search engine which can also be used on your own site/blog.
When you search for something using Quintura, you also get a tag cloud of related search term. If you move your mouse over a particular tag cloud term, the tag cloud shifts towards a more related keyword. You can also see the search box changing as you select a keyword in tag cloud. It’s pretty accurate and I am sure there’s a lot of semantics that went into designing the algorithm.
Following is the search generated by Quintura for TNerd.
You can check the live preview here.
The service as we said is pretty neat and has a great potential for both webmasters and for users of their site/blog. The widget which you create to embed on your site can be done in two formats, i.e. javascript and flash. Following are some other features.
- Quintura is free for publishers and it shares advertising revenues with publishers by showing ads inside the search cloud.
- It is also available by subscription in a no-advertising mode.
- Publishers can see the search analytics for their websites.
This service gives a great opportunity for bloggers to enrich their website and hence user experience. Also, there’s a good opportunitu to make some money.
