Gmail: Canned Response Launched, Save more time for Social activities online!

Do you keep sending several emails from your Inbox stating the same or almost the similar stuff everyday or every hour?

If yes, then here is something that will help you make the task of sending canned responses a little easier. GMail has come up with a new feature called “Canned Responses”. The “Canned Responses” feature helps you save and recall frequently sent e-mails easily. You need to compose your reply once and save it with “Canned Responses” button and the next time you have to send a similar reply you can open that same message and send it again.

To Enable “Canned Responses” click on Settings and than click on Labs. Search for Canned Response and Enable it.

Once you Enable “Canned Responses” you would see it when you try to compose a mail.

To save a canned response click on “Canned Responses” and from the drop down select New canned response...

Click on the New canned response andit will ask you to enter a new canned response name.

Enter the canned response name and click on OK. You can type the canned response and once again click on Canned Responses to select save from the drop down.

After clicking on save, the typed mail will get saved under the name you have selected. If you wish to edit it or make any changes in future click on the canned responses and click on Open. Select the canned response you wish to edit and make the required changes and again click on Save.

To send the Canned Response click on Canned Responses from the drop down select Open and than select the Canned Response you want to send.

If this is not sufficient and you are lazy enough to even click on the send button then you always have the option of setting a customized filter for an Auto Reply.

To use the Auto-Reply feature click on Settings and than click on Filters, GMail already provides you with the option of setting a Filter based on different combinations of keywords, sender, recipients and much more for your incoming emails. Set one for your canned response on an auto reply and the rest is taken care off..
