Train Tickets on ClearTrip: Train Ticket Reservations can’t Get any Easier!

I hopped on to ClearTrip to book my tickets, only to notice something new. ClearTrip not only did well strategically for itself but also came to our rescue by offering to book Indian train tickets (http://www.cleartrip.com/trains).
With Air fares literally touching the sky and people cutting down on their air travel has forced the online ticket booking sites to look into other options.
I am not sure if this is what led ClearTrip to offer Train Tickets or it’s just something they wanted to make available. It’s a welcome feature in any case.
I’ve got nothing to crib about as irctc.co.in was a well commended effort on Indian Railways part but simply not enough. The site would go down every now and then, throwing up errors at the time of booking, not even close to what we call a “user friendly” site.
Now ClearTrip puts an end to all our Train ticket booking miseries. The process is as simple as it can get. I have added a few images below to show you how easy it is now.
The only thing that I can point out that can be better the search form, better is not even the right word.. It’s already simple but a little confusing. On the regular railway booking form there is a “gender” field, however this form has none. I was confused where it says “Senior Citizens” and there are two dropdown’s “Male” and “Female”. I think it clubbed the senior citizens and gender field or maybe I am too dumb to understand.
I hope they fix it soon.

Thanks for sharing your views Hrush. I was not aware about the fare difference for male/femal senior citizens.
Train reservations on Cleartrip is really fast and helpful.

Abbas--thanks for pointing the confusion with the senior citizens out, we'll see what we can do to improve it.
The fares for male and female seniors are different, which is why we need the number of male/female senior citizens entered separately. Anyway, like I said, we'll see what we can do to improve the way that form is structured.
