iPhone India: Vodafone will Launch iPhone on 21st of Aug, Priced around Rs.24,000

As the launch date comes closer we made a few calls to know if the launch is on time i.e. 22nd of August and found something you will certainly be interested in.
Vodafone is taking an aggressive approach to the launch and they want to be the 1st to launch iPhone in India. So, if Aritel is launching iPhone on 22nd of August, iPhone will be available at Vodafone stores on 21st of Aug.
The company also wants to claim the cheapest iPhone in the country. So, iPhones coming out of Vodafone will be cheaper than its competitors, namely Airtel. Price for non-vodafone users will be around 35k’s and for existing users who have preregistered with Vodafone, it will cost them around Rs.24k.
The bottom line is and I quote "No matter what we will be cheaper than our competitors."
That’s not all, we have more!!
Initially iPhone will come only with 2G service and not 3G. 3G services on Vodafone will start from October onwards. 2G services will include GPS and Maps for 8 Indian cities including metro cities. Hyderabad is one of the 8 cities on GPS maps.
Vodafone will start calling the users who pre-registered for iPhone two days before the launch to discuss the details in terms of iPhone price and its features and once the user confirms the purchase, iPhone will be delivered at the day of launch. So, Ideally we should start receiving calls from tomorrow onwards. i.e 19th of August.
In addition to this information, Apple sent a mass e-mail to its registered users confirming the 22nd Aug as the launching date in India.

how sure are you abbas about the 21 aug launch date by vodafone. i really think you got it wrong , ive confirmed it a few times, theyr'e mixed reports with some saying it as the last week of august or september. it sure isnt the 21st. its already 19th midnight and theres no update on their site whatsoever ,not to mention the fact i didnt recieve no phone call although i booked mine as soon as the commercials for booking started. you should know better than to lie.

We never claimed that Vodafone stated the launch date of iPhone as 21st of August, we inferred.
If you read the article again, no where we claimed that Vodafone quoted iPhone's launch date....

We suggested that iPhone will be released on 21st of August based on the information we gathered from several sources and we certainly cannot deny the e-mail we received from Apple's mailing list, the subject of the e-mail read "iPhone 3G is coming August 22. Watch the guided tour."
So lets wait and watch. I am as interested as you are in iPhone's launch.

it was a nice article,but i still not satisfied with the prices bcoz if the prices will so much then what is their in the contract,it's just u have to keep the postpaid connection with any plan,it's k let's check it out,even i have pre registered.let's hope for the best......
