Gmail adds more Security to your Mail account! Adds HTTPS:

Gmail Security HTTPSGmail team has been working on adding security features to the mail service lately. Gmail blog announced a new feature which supports https for added security on Gmail. Though this feature add more secutiry by add encryption to the data it is recommened to turn it off when not required as it slows Gmail down a bit.

That is precisely why this feature is not turned ON by default. Go to "Settings" in your Gmail account to activate support for https.

Browser Connection

Earlier this month new feature was added which shows the last activity and remote login information. The details show Browser Type, IP Address and Date/Time. I don’t remember any other free e-mail service offering such information to its users.
