Google Predicts Obama

Google launched a new tool for Americans and other interested in US elections around the world to have a better perspective of the candidates popularity online. The new tool is based on Google trends which shows the search pattern of online users for Obama, Hilary and McCain in different states.

It certainly is an interesting representation of the data, however, it would have been more interesting and suggestive of the election results if Google would have categorised these search into two categories 1) Favourable and 2) Unfavourable searches. This categorization can be done based on the supporting keywords entered along with the candidates name.
