Get an iPhone in India. Vodafone Users SMS iPhone to 56789

iPhone in IndiaLast month we reported about Vodafone’s plan to launch iPhone in India around September, here is an update. Vodafone has started accepting registrations for iPhone.

All you have to do is send an SMS and register yourself for the Jesus Phone and will let you know about the price and availability soon.

SMS ‘iPhone" to 5678, you will shortly receive a confirmation "Congratulations! You just booked your New iPhone with . We will keep you updatedon its price, features and availability in due course. Thank you."

Or.. save a buck by pre-registering for an iPhone on site. Click here to register online

That is the closest you can get to an iPhone as of now. This registration is available for Vodaphone users only.

At last I feel its worth being a user.

For the ones who have decided they wont buy an iPhone because its common, join "Will not buy an iPhone" on Facebook or Orkut

I wonder if India has 3G networks in any of it circles. If no, it'll just be a showpiece...ofcourse one can always do other regular 2G stuff!

Vodafone.in has 3G written all over iPhone on the site,so, I assumed 3G is on.

I called Vodafone and confirmed that they are offering 3G services along with the phone.

Oohh...thnx for the update Abbas. So very soon we can see people flaunting their new 3G iPhones (though most of them wouldn't know what a 3G service is all about)...hhmmm...and sooner or later Palika Bazaar in Delhi and Mayas Plaza in Chennai will be flooded with cheaper options too I guess. Welcome to India iPhone!

Apple knows it job!iPhone 3G is the real stuff! Thanks for great review
