Kid Rock: Don’t beg, borrow or buy my music, Steal it!

Kid Rock - Steal MusicKid Rock, during one of his interviews with a popular news channel expressed his views about how iTunes and recording companies are making money at the cost of the artists. He goes on to say "I don’t mind people stealing my music, that’s fine – but I think they should steal everything".

According to the reports, Kid Rock issued these statements when one of the recording companies requested him to issue a statement against illegal downloads, thats when Kid Rock suggested that he is better off users stealing his music than recording companies or online music services, which sell the music and do not pay the artist accordingly. He is one of the artists who refuses to put his music on iTunes.

While I believe entertainment industry is still looking for the best model to do business online, this could very well spark off arguments between artists, recording companies and online music services.

Internet has changed us for better in many ways. Artists can put up their own site and start selling their music, Radio heads tried a new model with a album release back in 2007 where downloaders were in control of the price and 38% ended up paying for the music.

Lets wait and watch how the online entertainment industry shapes up.
