Anil Ambani on SaleI use Kontera for in-line content based advertising and I always had my doubts about its relevancy as it only targets keywords.

This one was pretty bizzare and I had to share it with you guys. I was looking through one of my articles and found "Anil Ambani" showing as a link and double underlined which means Kontera has an ad for the term.

As I move my mouse over the keyword out of curiosity to see whats the add is all about, guess what, Anil Ambani is on Sale!!

Ha ha ha..

    Hi Abbas,

My name is Vered and I'm from Kontera.

I have to agree that is a funny one :-) .

We make great efforts to ensure high relevancy between content, Keywords and ads, and our technology analyzes every webpage to determine its topic, sub topics and relevant keywords. Following this analysis our system looks for the highest paying and most relevant ad per the identified keywords and matches them together.

Like in other contextual advertising networks, advertisers bid for their keywords of choice, and such ads indicate that an advertiser has targeted that keyword per a particular campaign.

We can prevent any keyword or advertiser from being featured on your site, so if you encounter such an issue again, please contact Kontera Support and we'll take care of it right away.

    All the best,
    Vered

    Hi Vered,

Thanks for giving us a brief insight of how Kontera works. I just have one question, aren't the Keywords approved by the system? You probably have a system which catches trademark terms but "Anil Ambani" certainly does not go with Shopping.com.

Infact when I was writing the article I searched Shopping.com for the term and they had nothing to offer.
