Mr. A Rabindranath, CEO, C2E Technology Labs, stated that they started working on developing the technology only to realize that the technology was patented by a US based company, so instead of re-inventing the wheel they made an agreement with Sub-Media and are now the sole licensees to use the technology in India. Which clearly means lot of money will flow into the company in near future.
This medium of advertising costs about Rs 8 Lakhs for 15 seconds of Ad and Kotak Mahindra was the first to advertise on InTunnel media. C2E has currently tied up with Delhi Metro Rail Corp to serve as a platform for their advertising and are in talks with Kolkata metro corporation and with upcoming metro rail projects in Mumbai and Bangalore.
How does this technology really work?
A series of backlit posters are placed in the tunnel, each one showing a "frame" of video, with 24 frames per second of display. The entire process is controlled by a software and each poster is flashed by lamps in exactly the right position to centre the image in the window of the train.
