Anyway.. this article is aimed at collecting all the bugs and issues at one place for you to decide if its worth upgrading.
1) AMD Computers Crash after XP SP3 Installation (via: tomshardware.com)
The problem relates to machines with SP3 installed rebooting and then not allowing users to get so much as Safe Mode. The problem is mainly affecting AMD users who bought their machines from HP. Johansson attributes the problem to the way that HP puts images of Windows onto its machines, using the same copy for both Intel and AMD boxes.
"Because the image for both Intel and AMD is the same all have the intelppm.sys driver installed and running. That driver provides power management on Intel-based computers. On an AMD-based computer, amdk8.sys provides the same functionality," says Johansson.
2) Windows Systems Hangs and Crashes after XP SP3 Installation (via: tomshardware.com)
There is another problem with SP3 that has not yet been tracked down to anything so specific that is causing random hangs and system crashes, though at least one can get into Windows itself (unlike the lucky AMD users.)
3) Blue Screens and Continuous Reboots. (via:efluxmedia.com)
Apparently, the up-date causes a series of problems, from random blue-screens to continuous reboots.
Jesper Johanson, a former program manager for security policy at Microsoft, who now runs a Windows blog, explained the situation in one of his recent blog posts:
"At this point, I want to clarify that the endless rebooting is not at all related to SP3 per se. The problem is that with some configurations, SP3 causes the computer to crash during boot, and Windows XP, by default, is set up to automatically reboot when it crashes. That is why you end up in the endless rebooting scenario."
According to Mr. Johanson, the easiest solution is to disable the "automatic restart on system failure" option, while operating in safe mode.
4) Compatibility Issue between Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System and SP3 for XP and SP1 for Vista (via:neowin.net)
In the last few days, we have uncovered a compatibility issue between Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System (RMS) and SP3 both Windows XP and Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1). In order to make sure customers have the best possible experience, we have decided to delay releasing Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) to the web.
I will continue to update this post as and when I read about a new bug. In case you come across any bug you don’t see on this list, please leave it in comment.

BUY A MAC!! Problem solved! (Sorry, former PC user here, until 6 weeks ago...and I'll NEVER go back to Microsoft!)
When I open Outlook 2003 the inbox messages blinks. If I open new email the curser blinks and the text is delayed showing up on the screen. The hour glass is also visible where the cursor is. Service Pack 3 was automaticly installed because I am using One Care.
Is there a way to stop the blinking and fix the email?
Yeah I would love a mac but most of the games i play and the mod tools don't work on Mac, so mac is boring.
After installing XP SP3 SQL Express 2005 will no longer let remote users connect. Error message contends that remote access is not setup, when in fact it is! Thanks, MS....
Also getting the networking issues. It can see other PCs but wont allow anyone in at all.
Am removing SP3.
Microsoft should really have learnt a thing or 2 by now, same thing with SP2... I held off installing that for months in the end.
after installing SP3 I can't access the properties on my drives to turn on or off sharing. explorer will hang the crash.
Kills the DVD drive and stopped me using USB drive instead. Haven't tried any other USB devices yet. Should I be hopeful?

I have a problem connecting to my network after updating to service pack 3. My other comps can no longer see the computer on the net work but I have a shortcut to the computer on my laptop and i can access the files on the computer with SP3 on it.
I also have some hanging issues now and this comp is not AMD it is intel.
If you know of a fix for the network thing pls let me know.
