Find Extension on FileXTHave you ever come across an extension which left you guessing which software can open it? I have! When I am in such situations I go to one place which has answer to all my file extension questions and problems.

The site is called Filext (http://filext.com) and it has information of almost all the extensions ever created and it also offers a huge number of related and really useful utilities to make our extensions filled complicated life easy.

All you have to do to find information on a particular file extension is type the file extension (e.g. eps) in the search box. One in the following image:

For example if you look for information eps extension then the site will show you information in the following format:

  1. Program and/or Extension Function
  2. Company
  3. Specific Notes
  4. MIME Type
  5. File Classification
