RealPlayer: Download Online Videos Using RealPlayer

What I really want/need to know is what to do with my video that it downloads. Realplayer 11 downloads it into a swf flash video file that will only play in real player, i have tried converting to avi with multiple programs but no luck. Anybody know what i can do? I definitely cant do anything with an swf file, thats for sure.

uhh ahh what i mean is i have a really good converter/downloader which allows you to donwload stuff from youtube but this one is free for ever its called dvd video soft or free studio manager i dont no which but anyways it converts almost all video files to mp4

This plugin will not work with the latest version of Firefox as mentioned in the article. However there are alternate extensions which let you download the videos.

The Real Player (11.0.3, build 6.0.14.806) web download seems to work on small file only for me. It quickly downloads 13MB of a file's actual size is 256MB.

Is it a software issue or my set up issue? I'd appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this. Thanks.

Whenever I go to download with this no "Download this video" option appears, but I can download the video using the right-click but it only downloads a very small file.

The reason why "Download this Video" is not showing up could be because the option is not enabled.

Go to Realplayer > Tools > Preferences > Downloading and Recording and make sure one the the following options are enabled "On Page Load for seconds" or "Only on mouse-over"

Also, I would recommend you use this feature in Internet Explorer.

Hi i have real player, now that i up grade to fire fox 3 it wont work, which the upgrade did say will happen, ok fair enough.

but now am trying to see if it would work on internet explorer but the ''download this video'' option is not there only the right click on the mouse i can use, the video is download but when i click play it says real player cant play this video. do you think it has anything to do with the fire fox upgrade?

I have the same problem as David, but my download options in Realplayer are enabled, according to the steps you have given, but still, there's no "download this video" button that appears when my cursor hovers over the video. Can you help?

i have the same problem like abbas. the download this video butoon doesn't pop-up! and with right click it only dounloads 0.1mb. the pop-up button is set as "enable".
and by the way - real player is very good (when it does it's job)!

I like many others have searched every concievable solution to this problem with real playerm and have come to the conclusion that the fault lies purely with RP.Some people are lucky and get "DOWNLOAD THIS VIDEO"for a short time.So i suggest everybody complains to REAL PLAYER web page so we can get there techno's into gear and find a solution.

Real player is great for download youtube videos. Since a long time i've been searching for a downloader that can download videos quickly, but they usually take about 5-10 minutes to download a video. In the case of realplayer, i just finished watching the video, click, and it's already download in about 5 - 10 seconds. It's awesome. It seems that doesn't work for some people, try to install again the program.

OMG the download button doesn't show up! RP worked perfectly before i formatted my PC. Now i install it again and the button doesn't show up anymore! And yeh, before, I always did what clau did too, wait for video to finish THEN click download button

I have used realplayer 11 to down load films from sites such as tv links,but what is infuriating me is the say three part only down load say 10 mins of the film when clearly these parts should be half an hour at least,does anyone know why it keeps doing that and is there anyway i can resolve it,You tube vids are fine but im ending up with half hour movies all the time and its doing my head in now! How can i download an swf file. It is a holiday advert which I really want but real player will not allow?

Hi g vasillios i have removed the Yahoo tool bar but when i try to Download a film,when it says how many MB the file is which pretty much all films are around 650 to 800 Mb,it say silly values like 20MB or a bit more or a bit left,its always just downloading a part of the film,do you know why this is,what am i doing wrong? Hi Sean, it's unbelievable that all this time there hasn't been any official anouncement for this problem. Anyway I'm glad we have found the problem. As for the time limit you're mentioning go to realplayer and TOOLS>PREFERENCES>DOWNLOAD & RECORDING>ADVANCED SETTINGS and adjust default recording time. I hope this works for you. let me know.

Anyway try this and tell me if it works. go to realplayer Tools>Preferences>Download & Recording>Advanced Settings and increase your Default Recording Time. Try it out.

I will try that although it was already on 4hrs,put it to max though so will try again,just know its going to be something else though,arghhh!!!

Please help! I have downloaded a movie and i can hear it but realpayer is saying they cannot find software needed to view it. is there anything i can download or any other site i can use - i am useless so please keep it simple so i can understand! thanks

Looks like you do not have the required codes installed on your machine to play the video. Please visit the following link and download the the codecs mentioned on #2,3 and 4.

i have realplayer11Gold and the "download this video" tab shows up, but when I press it, it only downloads about 200mb / 300mb of the movie. This didnt happen 3 months ago, why now?

I put my default recording time to max(8 hours)but there was no change, is there any way to fix this?

this is amazing player to watch the downloaded movies on the internet.

I downloaded on to my memory stick but when I tried to play on my workplace computers I get a silent black screen but with a timer as if the clip was playing. I tried a friends computer and the same thing happened. I can watch the clips through my memory stick on his and my computer but not on any of the various workplace ones. Any ideas?

I have had real player for long time and have used "Download this Video" many times when mouse over. Now I cannot get it to work. Preference settings are enabled for Firefox 2, Explorer 7 and Google Chrome 1. What gives?

Definitely agree - if you disable the yahoo toolbar, real player's "download this video" will reappear. I have just tried it and it works!

I've been having trouble as well with real player download button. It doesn't appear anymore for me. It was working for me not so long ago, and all of sudden today no luck! My preferences are fine, I have google as my default, nothing's changed, I dont' know what to do now.

If realplayer download button was working at one point but not anymore, the first thing I'd suggest you to do is remove the current installation and install a fresh copy.

I did experience a few issues after upgrading my browser but a simple re-installation solved the issue.

I've been to a million different sites trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with it and why it suddenly quit working right. Nobody has an answer and the bastards at "REAL" don't seem to give a crap. They're not making ANY EFFORT to fix this problem!

I installed realplayer 11 and i get my option to download the video. But when I try to download the video its starts the download and quickly says its is complete when actually it has not downloaded anything. I have increased the time to 8 hours and tried various videos to make sure its not a security issue. I also disabled Yahoo toolbar. urgggg, any suggestions?

i have downloaded RealplayerSP, because i had problems with the previous version, it keeps telling me "impossible to download" i've removed MFF 3, IDM, and i don't have a Yahoo toolbar, and the "download this video" is visible. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM THEN !!!!!!!

Umm, the download this video button shows up for me, but when I download videos it doesn't play them. It plays music, but for videos, the bar thing moves, but there's no sound and nothing. I don't know what to do, i don't think i need to convert anything because it's downloaded to Realplayer anywway, so what should I do?

I have downloaded realplayer and it has been working pretty ok, but lately when i download a movie it only downloads half the movie. i have tried averything that has been suggested here earlier,but it's still not downloading the entire movie. What's the reason for that? And can it be fixed? It's really annoing just to see a half movie...
