PageRank: American Mathematician Society describes PageRank

American Mathematician Society (ams.org) features an article which claims an in-depth explanation of what goes behind Google’s PageRank algorithm.  I did read the article, couldn’t understand the whole of it but something that was very obvious is that, the importance of a page depends on how many sites/blogs link to your site. 

This theory of backlinks is not new, but this article certainly talks about it in depth for better understanding.
