Microsoft: MSNBot Verification!

Microsoft unleashed a way to verify its legendary (pun intended) MSNBot. This will allow the webmasters to identify the authenticity of the BOT by performing a Reverse DNS lookup followed by a Forward DNS lookup. This process will verify MSNBot

claims that there are lot of mischievous BOTs out their which do not follow the guidelines or respect the directions in robots.txt and fake their identity, this will make it real easy for webmasters to distinguish between the bots.

This is exactly what Google did couple of months ago and this is what I meant when I said "Copy your competitor to beat the competition".
