SlideShare: Sharing PowerPoint Presentations Online Just Got Easy!
Slideshare.net is a wonderful service which enables the users to upload their presentation and share it with rest of the world either by sending them the link or inviting the users to view the presentation on Slideshare.net, not only that but these presentations can also be embedded on your blog or a website. Once the presentation is uploaded it took about 3-4 minutes for Slideshare.net to read and convert it to show on the web and share it with other users.
SlideShare currently supports PPT, PPS (PowerPoint) and ODP (Open office presentation) format. It is really easy to embed the presentation from SlideShare, all you have to do is copy the "Embed" code which is available right next to the slide and add it to your blog or the website.
SlideShare has a long way to in order to become our favorite online PowerPoint presentation host. Just a few obvious things SlideShare should improve are, cut down on the conversion or the reading time it takes immediately after the presentation is uploaded and probably incorporate the technology to preserve the existing animations, at least a few basic ones!
Here is a presentation I hosted on SlideShare.net for testing it. I have copied the code and embedded it on the page. Looks pretty sleek and it’s extremely easy to embed.
So far ThumbStacks has been my favorite place for online presentation, which not only lets you share but also create PowerPoint presentations online. Having said that both services are worth a try or should I say worth a presentation
Web 2.0 rocks! Really?
