Digg.com Puzzled! Are we ready for Web 2.0?
Digg is one of the best examples of Web 2.0 where humans and technology work together to bring the best on the web. On the flip it is also the best example which demonstrates how things can be manipulated and influenced by human interference.
It’s the technology age, which means without moving from your place you can earn a fortune if you know How to! On internet the formula to earn money is extremely simple, Users/Traffic = Money. For thousands of sites Digg is the only source of thousands of unique visitors which eventually converts to Adsense dollars or any other Pay Per Click service.
In order to get traffic to the site, your digg post should be either on the first page or reasonable popular. There is no shortcut to the top, a post can be popular only if it has enough people digging it. Digg brings the post on to the first page only if the post manages to gain 51 diggs in 24 hours.
People register multiple accounts or take advantage of the social networking and form large groups and digg each others post and bring it to the top.
Digg has started fighting the rapidly growing techniques to manipulate the sites natural flow. One of the things Digg has been doing lately; it is terminating suspected users involved in any kind of manipulations. I do not know how effective this technique of terminating user accounts but I certainly hope it is controlled before people loose faith in Diggs original concept.
I only talked about few ways people try to make money by driving traffic to their own site. My next article is about how to make money by digging for posts on Digg.com. Stay Tuned!
